We welcome professionals of all nationalities who have recognised qualifications and practical experience in sign languages, including British Sign Language (BSL), American Sign Language (ASL), and other regional or national sign languages. You may work online, face to face, or in a hybrid model, supporting learners, clients, and other language professionals.

Role Description

As a sign language interpreter or assessor with LUL, you will provide accurate, impartial, and professional interpreting services or conduct structured assessments of learners’ and professionals’ sign language skills. Assignments may include interpreting for public services, businesses, or community clients, as well as assessing skill levels for training and placement. Professionalism, confidentiality, and reliability are essential.

Requirements

Recognised qualification in sign language interpreting, assessing, or related fields
Proven professional experience in interpreting or assessment
Excellent command of English for communication with LUL and clients
Attention to detail, professionalism, and discretion
Ability to work independently and maintain strict confidentiality
