LUL (Linguists Universal Lounge) is pleased to invite applications for
the position of Main Secretary / Senior Administrative Coordinator
(Volunteer). This is a key role within our organisation, offering a
unique opportunity to contribute directly to the growth and professional
development of our global network of linguists, translators,
interpreters, teachers, and specialist staff.

 

This position combines administrative coordination, recruitment support,
and marketing assistance. The successful candidate will work closely
with the Head of Administration and senior staff members, playing an
essential role in strengthening LUL’s operations, outreach, and
professional presence.

 

This is a volunteer role with flexible and agreed hours, designed to
provide meaningful real world experience in administration, recruitment,
and organisational development within an international professional
environment.

 

 

 

 

Role Overview

 

 

As Main Secretary, you will act as a central administrative and
coordination point between management, recruitment activities, and
marketing initiatives. Your responsibilities will focus on supporting
recruitment campaigns, assisting with communications and content
preparation, and contributing to the structured development of LUL’s
volunteer and professional network.

 

This role requires organisation, initiative, professionalism, and a
strong interest in recruitment and administrative leadership.

 

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

 

 

1. Recruitment and Marketing Coordination

 

 

Create, publish, and manage advertisements for volunteer and paid roles
across approved platforms, including but not limited to:
LinkedIn, Indeed, TotalJobs, Reed, Glassdoor, Adzuna, CharityJob,
JobsGoPublic, WorkInStartups, and specialist recruitment portals related
to languages, education, marketing, IT, and administration.
Promote opportunities targeting professionals in:
Translation, Interpretation, Teaching, Teaching Assistance, Marketing,
IT, Administration, and Multilingual Support roles.
Proactively search for suitable candidates, make initial contact, and
professionally present LUL’s opportunities and values.
Coordinate recruitment activity with the Head of Administration and
senior staff members, tracking responses and engagement.

 

 

2. Communications and Content Support

 

 

Draft and refine job descriptions, recruitment posts, and standard
communication templates.
Prepare promotional content to support LUL’s services, vacancies, and
volunteering opportunities.
Assist with outreach campaigns aimed at expanding LUL’s professional
network internationally.

 

 

3. Administrative and Reporting Duties

 

 

Organise recruitment materials and candidate information in line with
company guidance, without accessing restricted or sensitive systems.
Support internal reviews of recruitment strategies and suggest
improvements where appropriate.
Provide structured reports on candidate leads, campaign outcomes, and
engagement insights.

 

 

4. Collaboration and Organisational Support

 

 

Assist in identifying staffing and volunteer needs across departments.
Support the development of a structured, professional volunteer and
staff network.
Maintain close coordination with the Head of Administration and senior
staff members to ensure alignment with organisational goals.
Attend weekly staff meetings every Saturday at an agreed time.

 

 

 

 

Training and Support

 

 

LUL recognises that volunteers come with varied experience levels. Where
required, professional and official training will be provided to support
your development. Upon completion of training, a certificate may be
issued to formally recognise your participation and achievement.

 

 

 

 

Requirements

 

 

Highly organised, proactive, and self motivated.
Strong written communication skills in English.
Interest or experience in administration, recruitment, marketing, or
social media.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a
team.
Genuine enthusiasm for professional networking and organisational
growth.
